Get Immediate Assistance with Your Energy Costs

You are not alone. There are many resources all over the ProGas service territory to provide energy assistance, at the state, regional, and local levels.

The most prominent energy assistance program is the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). LIHEAP is a program run by states and is funded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. LIHEAP assists households in paying their energy bills through a cash payment directly to their fuel provider. Not only will you have peace of mind knowing your home will stay warm, but you’ll also ease your financial burden during these tough times.

If you or someone you know is in an immediate crisis where they face a shut-off of their heat, LIHEAPs provides grants to prevent that from happening.

Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia all have LIHEAP programs. Here are links to each of those:

Pennsylvania LIHEAP

West Virginia LIHEAP

On each LIHEAP site, you will find information on eligibility and what is needed to apply. For example, you may need recent utility bills, a paystub or documentation that shows you are receiving Social Security or assistance from another program.

If you have any questions regarding LIHEAP programs, please contact us and we’ll assist you with the process.

There are additional resources in all three states in addition to the state LIHEAP programs.
