The world has been uncertain lately, between the COVID-19 pandemic, soaring unemployment, and other economic ups and downs. Many of our neighbors here in greater Pittsburgh have been affected, whether it’s by lost business, reduced income, or health care costs. The effects of all this upheaval may linger into the coming heating season.

At ProGas, we want to make sure our customers keep their homes warm, safe, and comfortable, even when money is tight. It’s why we offer pricing and payment options so you have better control of your propane costs.

If you find yourself struggling to pay your propane bill, don’t let pride or fear keep you from reaching out to us. The sooner you do it, the sooner we can work together to find a solution.

LIHEAP is here to help

LIHEAP is the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. LIHEAP is designed to help low-income residents pay their heating bills.

All three states in our service area — Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio —have a LIHEAP through their state governments. Here are links to those programs:

Pennsylvania LIHEAP

West Virginia LIHEAP

In addition to the state-level programs, there is also assistance at other organizations and at more local levels, including:

Ohio assistance programs by county
Utility Emergency Services Fund
Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Pennsylvania’s LIHEAP has set up a Recovery Crisis Program to help people whose ability to pay their heating costs has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ohio also offers assistance to those who need help with cooling costs during the summer. If you need help navigating the process of getting LIHEAP assistance, ProGas can provide support and answer questions.
