What Is LIHEAP And How Does It Work?
There’s Help For Managing Your Energy Costs
There have been many challenges for us here in greater Pittsburgh this year.
The economy, both locally and nationally, has taken a beating thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses have struggled or shut down. Workers have been furloughed, laid off, or had their hours reduced. Between lost and reduced income, making ends meet has become difficult for many of our neighbors. Essential bills like energy may be hard to pay.
We’re your neighbors. We want to make sure that tough times don’t force you to go without the propane you need to keep your home warm and safe.
If you’re a ProGas customer and are having a hard time paying your bill, don’t wait. Contact us and we’ll do everything we can to help you manage your fuel costs moving forward.
There are also other resources near you that can help with your home’s energy costs. These are called Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programs (LIHEAP).
LIHEAPs are programs that help people with their fuel costs through a cash grant directly to their fuel company. Your fuel company gets paid, and you get some breathing room while you get through this tough time.
Sometimes, there’s a crisis where people face an immediate shut-off of their heat. LIHEAPs also provide crisis grants to prevent that from happening.
If you have any questions about LIHEAP programs, get in touch with us and we’ll help you through the process.
