Reading Your Propane Gauge
Reading your propane gas gauge is very simple to do. The Gauge is located under the cap at the top of the tank. If it is a tank from ProGas, your cap will be red in color. The numbers on the gauge represent a percentage. The pointer in the middle of the gauge points to one of those numbers.
Your propane tank is considered to be full at 80% allowing for the expansion of the propane vapor. Here is an easy formula to figure out how many gallons of propane you have left in your tank:
Tank Size X Percentage (gauge reading) = Gallons
Example: A 150-gallon tank that gauge reads 75% would be 150 X .75 = 112.5 gallons
